Thomas H Handy Sazerac Rye Antique Collection 2022

A cult classic rye whiskey from Buffalo Trace’s Antique Collection, one of the most sought after releases year on year.

Fragrant florals, fennel, marmalade, and cinnamon unfold on the nose, followed by a palate with hints of baking spice, a citrus zest, and tobacco, culminating in a finish of cinnamon and spicy rye.

This release was distilled in the Spring of 2016 and bottled in Autumn 2022 having spent six years and four months in cask.

It was aged in #4 char, virgin white American oak barrels, in warehouses I, L & M, at the Buffalo Trace Distillery, Frankfort Kentucky.

31% of the original whiskey placed in these barrels was lost to evaporation.

The mash bill was made up of Kentucky corn, Minnesota rye, and North Dakota malted barley.

Bottled unfiltered and uncut, the 2022 release comes in at a respectable 65.5%abv
